Whether you're filling out a form, checking eligibility, or just curious — calculating someone's exact age from a date of birth is something you need regularly. Counting mentally or on a calendar is slow and error-prone.

The Age Calculator gives you the exact age in years, months, and days the moment you enter the date of birth.

How to Use the Age Calculator

  1. Go to rohansurve.in/free-tools/age-calculator
  2. Enter the date of birth
  3. Get the exact age — years, months, and days — instantly
  4. Optionally calculate age as of a specific date, not just today

No manual counting, no calendar flipping.

When You Need an Age Calculator

Forms and applications — verifying age eligibility for financial products, insurance, government schemes, and memberships.

HR and recruitment — calculating candidate ages for roles with age requirements or for retirement planning.

Healthcare — patient age calculations for dosage, eligibility, and medical records.

Legal and compliance — verifying that a person meets the minimum age requirement for a contract, consent, or service.

Developers building apps — quickly testing age validation logic by calculating expected ages for test data dates of birth.

Personal use — figuring out how many days until a birthday, or exactly how old someone is turning.

Age in Years vs Age in Days — Why Both Matter

Most age calculations show years. But sometimes you need more precision:

  • Months — useful for infant health tracking, subscription anniversaries, and legal age calculations where months matter
  • Days — useful for insurance policies, loan terms, warranty calculations, and any scenario where the exact number of days is relevant

The calculator shows all three simultaneously.

How Exact Age Is Calculated

Age in whole years is not just "this year minus birth year." Whether you've had your birthday yet this year changes the answer. Someone born in December 2000 is 25 in May 2026, not 26 — their 2026 birthday hasn't happened. The calculator checks the month and day, not just the year, so the years figure is always correct.

After the whole years, it counts the additional months and days since the last birthday, giving you the full years-months-days breakdown rather than a rounded number.

The Leap-Year Birthday Case

People born on 29 February only get a "real" birthday once every four years. In non-leap years their age still increments — conventionally on 1 March, or 28 February depending on jurisdiction. The calculator advances the age correctly through non-leap years, so a 29 February birth date doesn't produce an off-by-one result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I calculate age as of a past or future date? Yes. Set the "as of" date to anything — useful for "how old will they be at the event" or "how old were they when this happened."

Does it count the current day? Age increments on the birthday itself, so on your birthday the calculator shows your new age with zero months and zero days.
